The story
The captain had always been a particularly brave, if rather unskillful, cliff diver. He had never received the recognition he dreamed of for this discipline, where he was known to fly like a flatfish and fall like a finback whale. His luck would change, however, when a sadistic marketing executive from an energy drink company decided that finishing the jump with a belly flop gave bonus points. Participating in such a contest would require foolhardiness and a ridiculously high pain threshold, both being skills the captain possessed. With the jump “quadruple somersault with half a screw and a flat pancake,” the major immortalised himself and scored a crushing victory, earning him a nice trophy, a week in the hospital, and a lifelong addiction to energy drinks.Highlights
